Karnali Integrated Rural Development and Research Center (KIRDARC) is a non-governmental organization that focuses on integrated human-rights based development since its establishment in 1999. Being humanitarian and development organization that has provided humanitarian relief and implemented development initiatives since 1956. ADRA works in more than Dozen of districts of Nepal from Himalayan to Terai region to bring sustainable development solutions and immediate emergency response to communities through a network of strategic and program implementing offices as well as consortium partners  KIRDARC Nepal  has worked in Nepal since 1999 and is experienced in working with vulnerable communities both in urban and rural context to mitigate the threats posed by natural disaster and climate change and build their capacity to adapt. KIRDARC works with communities and government institutions to enhance their resilience to disasters and is experienced in implementing number of projects in this regard. KIRDARC Nepal has started work on disaster focus project and program from 2009 onwards. It pr with the financial and technical support from Mission East, CARE Nepal, UNICEF, CWW, DIPECHO, Save the Children and UNDP, Water Aid, TDH to promotes  community  resilience through community and institution-based program approach. It is also supporting the GoN’s efforts to translate the Sendai Framework of DRR, Commitment of AMCDRR and national act/policies regarding reducing disasters in to practice. It promotes extensive engagement of communities and institutions in risk management, preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery. KIRDARC Nepal's programmes are designed to have an innovative, cross-sectoral impact through cross-cutting interventions promoting good governance, gender equality and social inclusion, environment protection and disaster resilience
