WVIN has been implementing Nepal Disaster Preparedness Project with funding support from Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH Germany) in 11 districts since 2018.
The one -year project targets to support government at different levels and communities with the tools and capacity to manage risks and respond appropriately in the immediate aftermath of a disaster while contributing to the effort of Government of Nepal in the implementation of its plans and policies. To do this well, WVIN with its implementing partner NGOs is working in 46 Municipalities/Rural Municipalities focusing on four areas
1) DRRM awareness and Local Disaster and Climate Resilience plans (LDCRP)
2) Prepositioning relief and rescue items at local level
3) Equipping local government and communities with skills, information and tools to deliver an appropriate immediate response to disaster events
4) Local cost-effective solutions to disaster preparedness and non-food items innovations and early warning systems are tested and in place.
