UNDP had implemented a project entitled Disaster Risk Reduction at the National Level in Nepal (DRRNLN) till 2010 as an umbrella project of disaster risk management integrating number of small projects such as on community-based disaster management, establishment of emergency operation centres, emergency grant for flood and landslide response (EGFLR) and preparatory assistance for the Implementation of Hyogo Framework for Action. The main goal of the project was to promote disaster risk reduction in Nepal through a multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder focused approach. With UNDP's support the GoN had developed the National Strategy for Disaster Risk Management 2009 (NSDRM) in Nepal.
