HBP is a five-year initiative funded by USAID that aims to reduce adverse impacts of climate change and threats to biodiversity in Kathmandu, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Makwanpur, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Gorkha, Tanahun, Lamjung, Kaski, Syangja, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur districts of Nepal. In order to empower the country's poorest communities to adapt to climate change, CARE has been building the capacity of those who are most at risk, so that climate change does not escalate into a humanitarian disaster.
