WVIN has been implementing Disaster Risk Reduction Project in 11 districts (except Sarlahi among its working districts) since 2017 with the aim to ensure communities are more resilient to disasters. Through the project which will run until 2020 and in collaboration with local government and partner NGOs, WVIN is supporting local government and stakeholders in developing, reviewing and implementing local disaster and climate resilience plan in 183 wards of 44 municipalities. In addition to that, the project is facilitating and empowering communities to establish and implement child-focused and participatory Community Based Disaster Risk Management Plans and advocating to ensure they are incorporated into local government plans. In the process, WVIN is ensuring children and youth engagement in disaster risk reduction and management activities.
