Draft-Initial analysis on local level DRR mainstreaming in Nepal

With an effort to proceed in a coherent and effective manner, Flagship  4,  Flagship 5 and some key organizations engaged in local level DRM mainstreaming support came together in May 2014 to discuss how to record and analyse the work that has been conducted to date on mainstreaming DRR into district and sub district level planning. The initial analysis from this exercise fed into the 6th Asian Ministerial Conference for DRR (AMCDRR). 

Flagship 4: Changing context of CBDRM in Nepal

This paper attempts to capture the progress and challenges of Flagship 4 to date (2011-2014) and makes recommendations for priority areas for Flagship 4 over the coming 2 years (2014-2015).

2014-2015 FLAGSHIP 4 OUTCOME STATEMENTS

Outcome 1

All CBDRM work being undertaken in Nepal is to the agreed standard of the 9 minimum characteristics of a disaster resilient community and are mapped online.

Outcome 2

The Government of Nepal leads community based disaster management stakeholders in the harmonization and strengthening of the district and local disaster management planning and implementation processes, including addressing capacity building, mainstreaming and knowledge management systems.

Outcome 3

Workplan 2014 with implementing partners

The consolidated implementing partners work plan is a ‘live’ document and allows organisations and Government to identify points of synergies and potential duplication for the coming year.
