Dhading Disaster Response Project (DDRP)

DDRP process was started with an aim to assist to rehabilitate socio-economic status of the survivor’s aftermath of earthquakes of April-May 2015. The project has been developed on the principle of build back better to enhance local resilience to future disasters. The project has several components to strengthen essential dimension integrated development i.e. livelihoods, WASH, protection, education, health sector etc.

Supply Chain Strengthening of Construction Materials and Tools in Earthquake Affected regions

This project is focused on strengthening supply chains of construction materials and tools in earthquake-affected districts particularly, Rasuwa and Nuwakot. Practical Action is considering three critical factors - aggregation at demand level to ensure economies of scale in transportation; extension of regional hub supply chains to strategic locations within the district by developing and promoting local vendors and storage capacity development and strengthening the capacity of local enterprises to initiate microenterprise for construction materials based on locally available materials.

Building resilience and climate adaptive planning in urban centers of Nepal Nordic Climate Fund, 2016-2018

create disaster and climate resilient urban centers by supporting municipalities to develop climate adaptive plans and enhancing the livelihood of vulnerable communities’ especially poor women and marginalize groups through climate adaptive business support. The project influences the private sectors to develop adaptation-friendly policy, practice and business plans and invests on actions identified by the municipalities.
