World Vision is a global Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. World Vision serves all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. World Vision started out in Korea in 1950 to meet the needs of children orphaned by the war in Korea. From there, the programme expanded to other Asian nations and gradually spread to nearly a hundred countries.

World Vision started its long-term development work in Nepal in 2001. At present, World Vision International Nepal's (WVIN) development programme focusing on health, education, protection, livelihoods and disaster risk management is being implemented in 12 districts in seven provinces namely Achham, Doti, Jumla, Kathmandu, Kailali, Lamjung, Morang, Rupandehi, Sarlahi, Sunsari, Sindhuli and Udayapur.
